I wanted to share one of my favorite devotionals lately. This one is by my friend, Julie Lefebure.
This morning’s devotional was so in line with what we talk about here. And I wanted to share with you.
First of all, I love this scripture. I said it out loud at a couple times. I’m so grateful for God‘s unfailing love and I rejoice continually that He has rescued me from the pit I was in. He has been so good to me even when it hasn’t felt good
I love that in here she talks about David’s heart in his worship. It wasn’t a duty to him or a checklist. It was a response to his unfailing love like she says his grace and his goodness towards him is faithfulness.
What is your heart when you spend time with God when you’re worshiping?
I’ve talked about how I’ve come out of legalism and I don’t talk as one who has it altogether. I have to watch myself that it doesn’t become those things again.
Old habits die hard.
The enemy knows our weaknesses and they can show up so subtly.
I was thinking that this morning too I’ve been asking you like I want to be natural. I want my time with you to be natural not just something I have to do or should do but that I’m spending time with you. You’re with me and my day all through my day that I walk with you and talk with you just like Adam and Eve did in the garden.
That is what we’ve been created for and that relationship is what Jesus died and rose again to restore.
It is a gift and something to rejoice over.
What are ways that you spend time with the Lord? How are you intentional to make sure it doesn’t become just a checklist item?
Let’s share together today!
I’m also going to put a link to the devotional here.
Have a beautiful day with Jesus!
Love,
Des

Thanks for sharing this. Not making my time with God a checklist has been a struggle with me for a long time.
Oh I love this! How fitting!!
